Remember that 100 glowing reviews can easily be besmirched by one or two bad ones, whether they are valid or not. As advocates of chiropractic, it's even more important we manage our reputation and what's being reported in blogs, articles, and other sources online, as bad news travels scary-fast, but the same media outlets are slow to write favorable stories about what we do.
So how do you find out what people are saying about you across the entire World Wide Web? Lucky for you, there are 6 easy social mention and reputation tools that are free (mostly) or low-cost:
Since Google accounts for about 72% of all web searches in the U.S., it's convenient that Google also offers a function to help you monitor your social reputation. Once you register and simply specify which keywords you want to monitor, you'll get notifications whenever someone mentions those terms. Registration is free, and you can choose which search results you get notified about, including blog mentions, social media mentions, article write-ups, or online reviews, etc.
Hootsuite is a social media management platform that allows you to schedule messages across all of your social media accounts. But aside from that, it has a great feature that allows you to survey feedback across all your social media accounts in one glance. There is a free version, but the Hootsuite Pro upgraded version only costs $9.99 a month and is well worth it if you are going to do some social media marketing and want to keep an eye on what people are saying about you there.
Complaint Search Box
It’s fairly easy to spot if a client or customer (or patient, in this case) leaves a bad review on Yelp or Facebook, but how about the other more obscure review sites and blogs? Complain Search Box allows you to run daily searches for your your company or brand across 40 review websites, from the bog boys to many of the lesser-known review sites.
Yelp, the most popular review website in the world, includes a feature that will send you a push notification for your phone or email whenever someone posts a new review on your site. This proves indispensable to either flag and challenge unfair bad reviews, reply to client questions quickly, or just thank people for their feedback.
That’s not a misspelling – “Yext” is a website that allows you to manage online listings on common location and review sites, such as YellowPages.com, Yelp, and others. It does more to update your profile information for accuracy across those review sites, but therefore also benefits your social presence and reputation.
Facebook review notifications
I'm sure you have a Facebook company page for your practice or as an individual chiropractic at this point, so maintaining a good star rating is crucial. To help your listing with Facebook's algorithm and therefore presence on people's timeline or searches, you'll also want to respond ASAP to all reviews, good or bad. The good news is that you can turn on the Facebook notifications for your page, so you'll receive a head's up every time someone leaves a review.
Here’s how you turn on those notifications:
1. Go to Settings in your admin dashboard.
2. Select “Get a notification each time there is activity on your Page or an important Page update.”
3. Make sure that all notifications are turned on under “Edit your notification settings.”
4. Select whether you additionally want an email sent to you each time there is activity on your page.
